Election Police Applications and Preparations in Taplejung for the House of Representatives Election

TAPLEJUNG — For the upcoming House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21, a total of 950 applications have been received for election police deployment in Taplejung. According to Jatashankar Yadav, Information Officer and Spokesperson of the District Police Office, 894 applications were submitted to the District Police Office, while 56 applications came through the Armed Police Force, No. 1 Gulma Headquarters in Kanchanjunga.
The district had requested 892 election police personnel, and although the initial deadline for applications was Magh 1, the submission period was extended by two days due to insufficient applications.
Police Inspector Ashish Pokharel of the District Police Office stated that the preliminary physical and endurance tests for applicants will begin on Monday, Magh 5. Applicants are required to bring their original citizenship certificate and admission card for the tests, which will take place from Monday through Wednesday at Bhanujan School playground.
Taplejung has a total of 90,327 registered voters, with 80 polling sites and 127 polling centers. The district comprises a single constituency for the direct election of a House of Representatives member.
These preparations are part of the district’s efforts to ensure a smooth and secure election process for voters and officials alike.
