Harka Sampang Opposes Decision to Allow Personal Secretaries for MPs

Harka Sampang has opposed the decision allowing Members of Parliament to appoint personal secretaries. He expressed his concerns through social media, arguing that the arrangement would create an unnecessary financial burden on the state.
According to him, if each personal secretary is paid a monthly salary of Rs. 30,000, the annual cost would be around Rs. 99 million, reaching nearly Rs. 495 million over five years.
He criticized the move as a reversal of a previously removed cost-cutting measure.
The decision was recommended for legal process by a committee chaired by Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal.
