Madhes Province Founder Chairperson Mamata Sharma Resigns from Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP)

Mamata Sharma, the founder chairperson of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in Madhes Province, has resigned from the party.
Sharma, who also served as a member of the party’s Women and Social Development Department, issued a statement on Wednesday announcing her resignation, effective immediately, and stated that she will no longer remain an ordinary member of the party.
According to her, the party’s methods, decision-making processes, and functioning in relation to the upcoming elections on Falgun 21 are contrary to the founding values of RSP, its constitution, and public commitments. She also accused the party’s decisions of being primarily driven by financial irregularities.
In her statement, she said:
“The contributions of capable members who worked day and night have not been properly recognized, activities have been conducted against party rules and constitution, party principles have not been implemented in practice, and most importantly, party decisions have been influenced by financial irregularities. Witnessing all these activities, I can no longer remain silent as my self-respect and political values are being compromised.”
Consequently, Sharma submitted her resignation in a way that she will no longer remain even an ordinary member of the party, effective immediately.
