Prime Minister Will Not Respond to Policy and Program Debate; Finance Minister Wagle to Address Parliament

Prime Minister Balen Shah will not personally respond to questions raised in Parliament regarding the government’s policy and program.
Instead, Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle will answer lawmakers on behalf of the government.
Earlier, the tentative agenda published by the parliamentary secretariat had stated that Prime Minister Shah himself would respond to the discussion. However, following the decision not to address Parliament directly, Finance Minister Wagle is now set to present the government’s position.
Ahead of the House of Representatives meeting, Prime Minister Shah has also called a Cabinet meeting. The House session is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. today.
Earlier on Monday, President Ramchandra Paudel presented the government’s annual policies and programs for the fiscal year 2083/84 during a joint session of the Federal Parliament.
