ICC T20 Qualifiers: Nepal to Face Kuwait Today in Oman

Kathmandu, Oct 8 – The Nepali national cricket team is set to face Kuwait today in its opening match of the ICC T20 World Cup Asia and East Asia-Pacific Regional Qualifier, with hopes of securing a place in the T20 World Cup for the third time.
The match between Nepal and Kuwait will take place in Oman at 8:45 p.m. Nepali time. Nepal previously participated in the T20 World Cup tournaments held in 2014 and 2024.
Nepal has been placed in Group ‘B’ alongside Kuwait and Japan. A total of nine teams are competing in the regional qualifier, divided into three groups. Group ‘A’ features Malaysia, Qatar, and the UAE, while Group ‘C’ includes hosts Oman, Papua New Guinea, and Samoa Islands.
The top two teams from each group will progress to the Super Six stage, moving one step closer to qualifying for the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup.
Nepal’s squad for the tournament includes captain Rohit Paudel, vice-captain Dipendra Singh Airee, Kushal Bhurtel, Lokesh Bam, Kushal Malla, Asif Sheikh, Adil Alam, Karan KC, Nandan Yadav, Sandeep Lamichhane, Sandeep Jora, Arif Sheikh, Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi, Gulshan Jha, and Sompal Kami.
Cricket fans across the nation are eagerly anticipating Nepal’s performance, with high hopes that the Rhinos will once again make it to the global stage.
