Growing Dissatisfaction in Rastriya Swatantra Party in Dang

Dissatisfaction within the Rastriya Swatantra Party (Raswapa) is intensifying in Dang, with leaders and cadres increasingly announcing their departure from the party.

At a press conference held in Ghorahi on Tuesday, Balbhadra Oli, Secretary of the party’s UAE Overseas Nepali Committee, along with Vijay KC, a regional member from Dang Constituency No. 2, and more than a dozen other leaders, publicly declared that they were leaving the party.

Speaking at the event, they accused the party of serious internal deviations in recent times. They alleged financial opacity and arbitrary decision-making in matters ranging from ticket distribution to other key organizational processes, which they said led to their dissatisfaction.

Balbhadra Oli stated that he had been actively involved in expanding the organization in the UAE since its establishment and had returned to Nepal with hopes of contributing to national change. However, he expressed disappointment over the party’s current direction, claiming that the change they had envisioned through Raswapa no longer seemed possible. He urged voters to support “capable and deserving candidates” in the upcoming elections.

He further announced plans to launch an election awareness campaign in Dang to inform the public about what he described as the party’s wrong activities and to create a favorable environment for competent candidates. Similarly, Vijay KC claimed that he had played a leading role in strengthening the party in Dang Constituency No. 2 since its inception but alleged that individuals with “negative tendencies” had recently gained dominance within the party. He also claimed that resignations were increasing nationwide and hinted that more departures could follow.

This latest development within Raswapa in Dang has created a new wave in local politics, raising questions about its potential impact on the upcoming elections.
