Royal Challengers Bengaluru Win Women’s Premier League Title for the Second Time

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have won the Women’s Premier League (WPL) T20 title for the second time. In the final played on Thursday, RCB defeated Delhi Capitals by six wickets at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.

Chasing a challenging target of 204 runs set by Delhi, RCB successfully reached the target with two balls to spare, losing four wickets in the process. RCB captain Smriti Mandhana led from the front, scoring a brilliant 87 runs off 41 balls, which included 12 fours and three sixes. Georgia Voll also played a crucial role with an impressive 79 runs off 54 balls, hitting 14 fours, while Radha Yadav remained unbeaten on 12 runs.

For Delhi Capitals, Chinelle Henry picked up two wickets, while Minnu Mani and Nandani Sharma claimed one wicket each.

Earlier, after losing the toss and being asked to bat first, Delhi Capitals posted a strong total of 203 runs for the loss of four wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Delhi captain Jemimah Rodrigues was the top scorer with 57 runs off 37 balls, including eight fours. Laura Wolvaardt scored 44 runs, Lizelle Lee added 37, Chinelle Henry remained unbeaten on 35, and Shafali Verma contributed 20 runs.

For RCB, Sayali Satghare, Arundhati Reddy, and Nadine de Klerk each took one wicket.

RCB had previously won the WPL title in 2024. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals suffered their fourth consecutive defeat in a WPL final.
