India Rejects Nepal’s Claim on Lipulekh Issue

India has expressed disagreement after Nepal publicly stated its position on the Lipulekh dispute. Indian Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said Nepal’s claim is not based on historical facts and evidence.

According to him, the route through Lipulekh Pass has been used for the Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage since 1954 and is not a new development. India maintains that the route has been in use for decades.

India also stated that it does not accept Nepal making unilateral claims regarding the territory and emphasized that it is ready to resolve remaining border issues through dialogue and diplomatic channels.
