Nepali Students Happy as Document Verification Process Becomes Easier for Studying in Korea

Kathmandu: Nepali students aspiring to study in South Korea have expressed happiness after the document verification process was made easier and more systematic. The South Korean Embassy has recently introduced significant changes to simplify and organize the visa application process, providing major relief to students.
Previously, the process of document verification and appointment booking was complicated and time-consuming. However, the newly implemented system has completely transformed the procedure, allowing students to verify their academic documents more easily and efficiently.
What Were the Previous Problems?
Earlier, students had to wait for months to get their academic documents verified by the embassy. Due to limited quotas in the online appointment system, securing an appointment was extremely difficult. As a result, many students faced the risk of missing university intake periods.
What Has Changed Now?
According to the latest notice from the embassy, students can now complete document verification by standing in line at designated times based on their date of birth and passport details.
The process of submitting documents and receiving passports has become much faster and more transparent compared to before. Students can also track the status of their applications online.
In addition, the embassy has introduced a call center service, allowing students to obtain information from morning until 9:00 PM—an improvement over the past, when it was difficult to get responses for inquiries.
Benefits for Students
The new system has provided significant relief, especially for students applying for the March and September intakes. It has reduced the time required for consular verification and minimized the unnecessary influence of agents and middlemen.
Students’ Experiences
Sangita Thakur from Jhapa, who is preparing to study Business in South Korea, shared her positive experience with Khabarsewa.
“Compared to before, the process is now much simpler and faster. We no longer have to worry about waiting for months just to get our documents verified,” she said.
Similarly, Bishal Tamang, who is preparing to pursue higher education in Social Welfare in South Korea, highlighted the financial and mental relief brought by the new system.
“Earlier, we had to pay extra money to agents or middlemen just to book a visa date. Now, we can directly submit applications at the Visa Center (KVAC). This has saved both our money and stress,” he said.
