Debate on Suhang Nembang Case and Generational Shift at ANNFSU Meeting

A secretariat meeting of All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU), affiliated with Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist), discussed the issue of young leader Suhang Nembang being prevented from becoming the parliamentary party leader.
Participants in the meeting alleged internal conspiracy within the party and commented that there is still uncertainty regarding providing opportunities to young leaders.
The meeting was held at the central campus of Tribhuvan University in Kirtipur, where only 28 out of 58 secretariat members were present.
Participants raised questions about the current leadership and stressed that a generational shift is essential. They warned that without giving opportunities to youth, it would be difficult for the party to sustain itself.
The meeting also unveiled a 13-point “TU Declaration,” focusing on issues such as educational reform, nationalism, and public livelihood.
ANNFSU has demanded that education be made free and compulsory up to the basic level and that a mandatory 45 percent discount for students be enforced in public transportation.
