Communication Services Disrupted in Dolpa Due to Continuous Snowfall and Rain

In the Himalayan district of Dolpa, continuous snowfall and rain have disrupted communication services. Power supply to Nepal Telecom towers was cut off, causing a temporary communication blackout.

According to the Dolpa Telecom Office, power outages affected several towers: two in Mudkechula Rural Municipality, one on a hill in Jagdulla Rural Municipality, and another on Nyune Hill in Tripurakot, Tripurasundari Municipality-1.

The office explained that, due to the lack of electricity and continuous cloud cover, the solar systems at these towers were not charged, leading to the service disruption. There are no other technical issues with the towers, and service is expected to resume once the weather improves and the solar systems recharge.

The Dolpa Telecom Office also warned that if adverse weather continues, other towers, including those in Kaike Rural Municipality, could also go offline, expanding the areas affected by the communication blackout.
