Tanuja Pandey criticizes bulldozer action on squatter settlements

Tanuja Pandey has criticized the government’s bulldozer action against landless and squatter settlements, questioning the fairness of the move.
Through social media, she remarked that poor people living under tarpaulins along riverbanks are being labeled as “illegal squatters,” while ministers and lawmakers who occupy public land and run businesses using political influence are the “real squatters.”
She accused the state of showing toughness only toward poor and vulnerable communities, saying that bulldozers are currently being used only against marginalized settlements.
Pandey also stressed the need for a just, accountable, and humane Nepal, arguing that the state should treat all citizens equally.
