Sandeep Lamichhane Sets Record for Fastest 150 ODI Wickets

Nepal’s star leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has created a new world record by becoming the fastest bowler to reach 150 wickets in One Day International (ODI) cricket.

Sandeep achieved the milestone in just 73 ODI matches, breaking the previous record held by Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc, who had reached 150 wickets in 77 matches back in June 2019.

He completed the feat during Nepal’s ongoing match against Scotland by dismissing Brandon McMullen.

Earlier, Sandeep had also broken another ODI record by becoming the fastest bowler to reach 100 wickets. He achieved that milestone in 42 matches, surpassing the previous record of 44 matches held by Rashid Khan.

It took Sandeep only 31 additional ODI matches to move from 100 to 150 wickets.

He made his ODI debut for Nepal national cricket team against Netherlands on August 1, 2018.
