NEPSE Index Rises Amid Higher Trading Volume

Kathmandu — The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose modestly on Thursday, marking a positive close for the week. The index increased by 9.23 points to reach 2,714.61.
Meanwhile, the Float Index rose by 0.66 points, while the Sensitive Index fell by 0.47 points and the Sensitive Float Index declined by 0.14 points.
Trading volume also saw a rise of NPR 150 million on Thursday. A total of 94,174 transactions across 332 stocks involved 19,075,000 shares, valued at NPR 907,397,800, compared to NPR 892 million the previous day.
Shares of SY Panel Nepal, Trishuli Hydropower, Shrinagar Agritech Industry, and Corporate Development Bank traded at positive circuit levels. Excel Development Bank shares surged nearly 10% while Rawa Energy Development shares increased by 9%. Kalika Power shares recorded the largest drop of 6.25%.
In terms of trading volume, Aankhu Khola Hydropower Company led with NPR 408.2 million, followed by Manjushree Finance with NPR 360 million and SY Panel Nepal with NPR 330 million.
Among the 13 sub-indices, 10 showed gains while 3 declined. The Finance sub-index rose the most by 2.38%, whereas the Trading sub-index recorded the largest decline of 1.15%.
