Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah Holds Talks with Gen Z Activists Ahead of Election

Kathmandu- Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah has held discussions with a group led by Gen Z activist Miraj Dhungana.
The talks, taking place in Thapathali, aim to bring together various groups that led the protests on Bhadra 23 and 24 to participate collectively in the upcoming elections scheduled for Falgun 21.
Sources say that after recently aligning with the Rastriya Swatantra Party and Ujyaalo Nepal Party, Mayor Shah is trying to include Gen Z groups who were previously left out. The discussions are reportedly aimed at reconciling dissatisfied groups, even if it requires adjusting the proportional representation lists submitted to the Election Commission.
Recently, groups led by Nicholas Bhusal and Miraj Dhungana have been actively voicing their dissatisfaction with the government, arguing that it is focused solely on elections and has not addressed the genuine demands of the Gen Z movement.
