Kanti Highway Closed Until Further Notice Amid Heavy Rainfall Risks

Lalitpur– The District Administration Office (DAO) of Lalitpur has announced the closure of the Kanti Highway until further notice due to the heightened risk of disasters triggered by continuous rainfall since Friday.
According to the DAO, the movement of all types of vehicles along the highway has been prohibited as a precautionary measure to prevent possible accidents and landslides.
The Meteorological Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported intensified monsoon activity in several provinces, including Bagmati, raising the threat of floods and landslides in hilly areas.
In a public notice, Assistant Chief District Officer Gita Ghimire urged residents and travelers to remain cautious and to use alternative routes in case of emergencies. The DAO also called on the public to stay updated through official sources and to avoid traveling through high-risk zones until the situation improves.
