Exports Worth Rs. 79.54 Billion via Birgunj Border in Nine Months

Goods and commodities worth Rs. 79.54 billion have been exported to foreign countries through the Birgunj Customs Office during the first nine months of the current fiscal year.
According to the customs office, exports increased by Rs. 10.19 billion—about 15 percent—compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year, when exports stood at Rs. 69.35 billion.
Information Officer Uday Singh Bista stated that exports through this checkpoint have grown by 15 percent in the current fiscal year. During this period, refined soybean oil worth Rs. 43.61 billion was exported, compared to Rs. 36.62 billion in the same period last year.
Similarly, fruit juice worth Rs. 5.84 billion was exported in the current fiscal year, slightly higher than Rs. 5.77 billion in the previous year’s corresponding period.
Exports of refined palm oil saw a significant rise, reaching Rs. 5.24 billion compared to just Rs. 590 million in the same period last year. Meanwhile, refined sunflower oil exports stood at Rs. 5.05 billion, down from Rs. 6.61 billion previously.
During the nine-month period, various types of garments worth Rs. 2.69 billion were exported. Additionally, synthetic yarn exports amounted to Rs. 1.94 billion, according to the Birgunj Customs Office.
