Film ‘Lalibazar’ Released After Court Stay Lifted

The Nepali film ‘Lalibazar’ has officially been released in theatres starting today after the High Court Patan lifted its earlier interim order that had temporarily blocked its screening.

The court had issued a short-term restraining order on April 23, but it was later revoked, allowing the film to be released.

Directed and written by Yam Thapa, the movie is produced by Shatkon Arts and focuses on the emotional story of a mother and daughter.

Thapa said the film portrays the struggles of a mother for her child and is designed as a family-friendly movie that audiences can watch together.

The film features actors such as Swastima Khadka, along with Rabindra Singh Baniya, Samaira Thapa, Mukund Kumar Shrestha, Abhay Baral, and others in key roles.

Actress Khadka said the film is special for her career and emotionally based on the bond between mothers and daughters, adding that audience reactions during special screenings have been encouraging.

The screenplay and dialogues were jointly written by Yam Thapa and Pradeep Bhattarai.
