Baglung Prepares Two Temporary Polling Stations for Upcoming House of Representatives Election

For the House of Representatives election scheduled on Falgun 21, 2082 BS in Baglung, two temporary polling stations have been set up to facilitate proportional voting for inmates and government employees. The district has a total of 107 polling locations and 230 polling centers.
Chief Election Officer Sita Sharma Adhikari stated that 53 inmates listed in the voter registry at Baglung Prison will be able to vote within the prison. They will cast their proportional votes based on their voter ID cards. Additionally, arrangements have been made for employees and voters unable to reach their assigned polling centers to vote at the Chief Election Officer’s office.
Adjustments to polling locations were made based on security sensitivity, voter numbers, and accessibility, resulting in one additional polling location, one reduction, and the relocation of two stations. According to the District Election Office, Baglung, the district has a total of 193,381 registered voters, including 94,806 men and 98,574 women.
Approximately 4,000 personnel, including election staff, police, and election security officers, are being deployed for the election. Superintendent of Police Tilak Bharti confirmed that security forces have already been deployed across election areas. A total of 23 candidates are contesting across the two constituencies in Baglung.
