Durga Prasai Remanded to Five Days in Custody

The District Administration Office in Bhaktapur has granted permission to keep Durga Prasai, coordinator of the Nation, Nationality, Religion, Culture and Citizen Protection Grand Campaign, in custody for five days.
Prasai was arrested on Sunday from his residence in Bhaktapur. Authorities have initiated an investigation against him on charges related to offenses against public order.
He was previously arrested in Kathmandu on Falgun 4 and released on Falgun 13 following a Supreme Court order. In a habeas corpus petition filed by his wife, Uma Prasai, claiming unlawful detention, a joint bench of Supreme Court Justices Manoj Kumar Sharma and Meghraj Pokharel had ordered his release.
Prasai has recently been making public statements claiming that elections would not be held.
