Prime Minister Sushila Karki Estimates NPR 31 Billion for Upcoming Election

Prime Minister Sushila Karki has informed that approximately NPR 31 billion is expected to be spent on the upcoming election.
Speaking to journalists during her visit to Nawalpur on Tuesday to attend a program of the National Service Corps, she provided this estimate.
She also confirmed that the government is actively working to ensure the election is held on Falgun 21. Responding to rumors about a possible delay, she stated, “The election will not be postponed. Why delay it? The expenditure is around 31–32 billion, which is necessary at this time. These costs cover filling gaps in logistics and other essential resources. We are also receiving support from various countries, which otherwise would have gone elsewhere.”
The Prime Minister emphasized that the election will take place, and once new representatives are elected, power will be transferred to the new government.
She added that if, for any reason, the election faces obstacles in some areas, it will be completed in a second phase. In Himalayan districts, despite challenges caused by cold weather and difficult terrain, the government will ensure the election is conducted by transporting voters where necessary.
Prime Minister Karki reiterated that the government is committed and vigilant to conduct a peaceful election.
