Nepal Premier League 2025: Jimmy Neesham Complains About Unpaid Salary from Pokhara Avengers

New Zealand cricketer Jimmy Neesham, who played for Pokhara Avengers in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2025, has complained that he has not received his payment.

Neesham commented on a recent Instagram post by Pokhara Avengers, which praised his outstanding bowling performance in last night’s T20 World Cup final. In his comment, he wrote: “C’mon, pay your players”, urging the team to settle the players’ dues.

Responding to the issue, Pokhara Avengers owner Subodh Tripathi explained that the delay was due to approval procedures from the National Sports Council (RSPN). He assured that there is no dispute with Neesham and committed to paying his salary within the next two weeks.

“Due to RSPN’s requirements, we haven’t been able to pay him or any other players yet,” Tripathi told Onlinekhabar. “We will complete the process and pay the dues within two weeks.”

He added that the team has no issues paying any player, but bureaucratic procedures in Nepal caused the delay.

Tripathi explained further: “Initially, we were told that approval from the central bank was not required. However, when our banking partner, Global IME Bank, requested the authorization, the process got delayed. Then we approached the National Sports Council, but RSPN took time to approve due to the legal review. The office was also closed at one point because of elections. Now, we are in the final stages of processing the payments.”

Tripathi also mentioned that Pokhara Avengers’ office spoke to Neesham on Tuesday, informing him that the payment would be made soon, and Neesham has agreed to this arrangement.

The second edition of the NPL ran from Mangsir 1 to 27.
