NPR 665 Billion Revenue Collected in Seven Months, 44.93% of Target Achieved

The government has collected NPR 665.24 billion in revenue from Shrawan to Magh of the current fiscal year 2082/83. According to the Revenue Management Information System under the Ministry of Finance, this amount is 3.45% higher than the same period last year.
By department, the Customs Department collected NPR 278.42 billion, showing an 8.04% increase compared to last year. Similarly, the Inland Revenue Department collected NPR 320.88 billion, reflecting a 4.21% growth.
Among major tax heads, excise duty recorded the highest increase of 10.88%, with NPR 105.44 billion collected by Magh 29. Value Added Tax (VAT) also rose by 7.58%, reaching NPR 196.44 billion.
However, income tax and non-tax revenue saw a decline. Income tax decreased by 0.81%, totaling NPR 158.66 billion. Non-tax revenue experienced the largest drop, falling 14.89% to NPR 6.57 billion.
The government’s revenue target for the current fiscal year is NPR 1,480 billion. Revenue collected by Magh 29 represents 44.93% of the annual target. Compared to the monthly target for Magh, only 85.55% has been achieved.
