Chitwan Administration Urges Surrender of Firearms Ahead of Elections

Chitwan — Ahead of the House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21, the District Administration Office of Chitwan has urged all individuals holding firearms with official permission for personal security to surrender them.

The notice issued by the office emphasizes that, in order to ensure a clean, fair, peaceful, and credible election environment, all permitted weapons must be deposited with local police stations within 15 days.

According to Information Officer Madan Lama Thing, any failure to comply within the stipulated time will result in legal action as per prevailing laws. Weapons surrendered will be returned to their owners after Chaitra 20.

The administration has called on residents to cooperate promptly to ensure public safety and maintain the integrity of the election process.
