Nepal Cricket Prepares for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka

Nepal’s bowling consultant for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka, has been appointed as Ian Harvey from Australia. Harvey is a former Australian cricketer and assistant coach of the Glamorgan team.
Nepal is preparing for the tournament starting the third week of Magh (February 2026). The team is currently practicing at Extratech Oval in Rupandehi before heading to Sri Lanka and then to Mumbai, India, for final preparations, according to the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).
The team will play practice matches against Sri Lanka ‘A’ team and the Mumbai Cricket Association team. Nepal is scheduled to reach Sri Lanka next week, with their first practice match on Magh 6 (February 19, 2026). After one week of training in Sri Lanka, the team will move to Mumbai, where the first practice match is scheduled for Magh 15 (February 28, 2026).

Note: Arif Sheikh, Basir Ahmed, Nandan Yadav, Sher Mall, and Lokesh Bam are making their World Cup debut. Sher Mall may also debut for Nepal’s senior national team in the tournament.
Nine players—Rohit Paudel, Asif Sheikh, Kushal Bhurtel, Dipendra Singh Airee, Gulshan Jha, Lalit Rajwanshi, Karan KC, Sandeep Jora, and Sandeep Lamichhane—are appearing in their second consecutive World Cup, having been part of Nepal’s 2024 World Cup squad.
Sompal Kami is making history by appearing in his third consecutive World Cup, having also played in 2014.
