Home Minister Gurung Claims Deception in Fewa Lake Land Case

Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has claimed that he was deceived in the Fewa Lake shoreline land case in Pokhara. He made this statement after it was revealed that even the land he had leased fell within a disputed or encroached area, despite his strict stance against corruption and encroachment.
According to his secretariat, the landowner had allegedly hidden facts and leased encroached land, deceiving Gurung and his three partners, who are now preparing to seek legal recourse.
The land in question was leased about 8–10 years ago for operating “Adventure Sports Nepal” and was initially represented as falling outside the 65-meter regulation limit. However, later verification with the municipality showed that the land actually fell within the regulated area, Gurung stated.
Upon realizing the deception, he immediately halted construction and investment, calling the incident a manipulation of his investment and dream.
Gurung has clarified that he will now pursue strict legal action against the fraud.
