Trump–Putin Discuss Ukraine and Iran Conflicts

Donald Trump has said he held discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the ongoing wars in Ukraine and Iran.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Trump stated that Putin is willing to help bring an end to the conflict in Iran.
He said, “We talked a lot about the Ukraine war, and he wants to help. But I told him I want him to end his war first before I help him.”
Trump also mentioned that Putin expressed interest in being involved in a potential agreement related to Iran. According to him, Putin would like to participate in the process if it helps finalize such a deal.
Emphasizing the need for Russia’s active role in ending the Ukraine war, Trump urged Putin to focus more on resolving that conflict. He also reiterated the US position that Iran must not be allowed to possess nuclear weapons.
Trump added that Putin also shares the view that Iran should not develop nuclear arms, suggesting a level of informal understanding between the two leaders on the issue.
