Pakistan PM Says US–Iran Ceasefire Holding, Peace Efforts Continue

Shehbaz Sharif has stated that the ceasefire between the United States and Iran remains in place. He also mentioned that Pakistan will continue its efforts to facilitate dialogue in the region and promote lasting peace.

Addressing the federal Cabinet via television, Sharif said that the ceasefire is still holding and efforts are ongoing to resolve remaining disputes. He described the recent Islamabad talks as a historic moment, stating that they provided an opportunity to turn the looming threat of war into lasting peace.

Speaking about the Islamabad talks, he revealed that Iranian and American delegations held direct, face-to-face negotiations for 21 hours. He described this as an important step toward diplomatic engagement.
