Narayan Datt Paudel Appointed as APF Inspector General

The government has appointed Narayan Datt Paudel of Surkhet as the Inspector General (IGP) of the Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal.
A Cabinet meeting held on Monday decided to promote AIG Paudel to the position of IGP, according to Government Spokesperson and Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Sasmit Pokharel.
Paudel replaces Raju Aryal, who is set to retire later this week.
Paudel joined APF Nepal from Nepal Police in 2001 when the paramilitary force was established. He was promoted to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in the same year, Superintendent of Police (SP) in 2008, and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in 2013. He was promoted to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in 2018 and Additional Inspector General (AIG) in 2022. As AIG, he oversaw the Human Resources, Border Security, and Operations departments of the APF.
IG Paudel has also served in United Nations peacekeeping missions in Liberia and Kosovo.
