CPN-UML Leader Gokul Baskota Criticizes Party Leadership After Election Defeat

Gokul Baskota, a leader of the CPN-UML, has expressed sharp criticism of his party’s leadership following a heavy defeat in the House of Representatives elections.

Through a post on Facebook, Baskota implied that the party’s top leaders favor only those who are popular, without naming anyone directly. He suggested that the party has failed to reform itself in time and hinted that it risks becoming outdated like a “dinosaur” if changes are not made.

He wrote:
“Once the party is ready to flashback the ups and downs of its life nostalgically, revision, rethinking, restructuring, and renovation can happen smoothly. The pyramid was there, we made a step to add flowers. It seems only popular leaders are favored. If the party doesn’t reform in time, will it turn into a dinosaur? Don’t worry!”

Baskota’s remarks highlight internal concerns over leadership and the need for timely reforms in the party after its electoral losses.
