Vote Counting to Begin After Ballot Boxes Are Safely Collected

Kathmandu — Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari has said that vote counting will begin immediately after ballot boxes are safely collected.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Election Commission on Thursday evening, Bhandari shared that the Commission has intensified the process of collecting ballot boxes following the completion of voting.
“Once the ballot boxes are safely collected, vote counting will begin immediately in accordance with Directive 2082,” he said.
The Commission also informed that helicopters have been used to transport ballot boxes from 15 remote districts. Among them, ballot boxes from Taplejung, Rasuwa, Dolakha, Bajhang, and Eastern Rukum are expected to reach their respective counting centers by Thursday.
Similarly, ballot boxes from Sankhuwasabha, Solukhumbu, Gorkha, Western Rukum, Manang, Bajura, and Humla are expected to be delivered to the respective locations by Friday morning.
Bhandari also said that the initial reports received from national and international election observers involved in monitoring the election have been positive.
He expressed gratitude to all voters for exercising their right to vote and participating in the process of electing representatives, making laws, and contributing to the governance of the country.
