Police Action Initiated Against Officer for Soliciting Votes on Social Media

Disciplinary action has been initiated against a police officer for campaigning and soliciting votes for the Rastriya Swatantra Party (Raswapa) via social media.

The officer, Sub-Inspector Shyamnarayan Patel, who was serving in Parsa district, is under departmental proceedings after evidence emerged of him promoting a political party and requesting votes through Facebook.

According to DSP Hari Basnet of the Parsa District Police Office, Patel has been withdrawn from his unit under the district police office and departmental action is now underway.

Patel was previously serving in a unit under the Parsa District Police Office.
