30 Million Ballot Papers Printed for Direct Elections Ahead of falgun 21 Polls

As preparations intensify for the House of Representatives elections scheduled for Falgun 21, a total of three million ballot papers have so far been printed for the first-past-the-post (direct) electoral system, according to the Election Commission of Nepal. The Commission stated that ballot papers for 25 districts have already been printed.
The printing process is being carried out regularly at the Janak Education Materials Center in Bhaktapur. Earlier, the Commission had completed the printing of 20.83 million ballot papers for the proportional representation system. In addition, 1,098,200 sample ballot papers have been printed for voter education purposes.
To strengthen voter awareness, the Commission’s Voter Education Unit under the Election Information Dissemination and Coordination Center has so far approved and made public 158 voter education materials. These materials have been disseminated through the Commission’s official Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), TikTok, and YouTube platforms.
The Commission believes that such materials will help enhance electoral integrity, provide voters and stakeholders with official and reliable information, and reduce the impact of misinformation and disinformation during the election period.
Briefing Provided to the International Community
Meanwhile, with the objective of informing the international community about the upcoming elections, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with the Election Commission, organized a briefing for heads and representatives of diplomatic missions and United Nations agencies based in Kathmandu.

The program covered key issues including the overall election environment, preparatory measures undertaken by the Election Commission, and arrangements for national and international election observers.
The Commission has reiterated its commitment to conducting the elections in a free, fair, and credible manner.
