Prime Minister Susheela Karki Inspects Kathmandu–Terai Fast Track

Prime Minister Susheela Karki inspected the under-construction Kathmandu–Terai Fast Track on Wednesday morning. She conducted the inspection with a team of senior officials and officers from the Nepal Army.

During the visit, she inquired about the progress of the construction and instructed that work be completed as quickly as possible. She assured that the government would provide all necessary support to facilitate the project.

The Kathmandu–Terai Fast Track is considered a national pride project, strategically important as it connects the Kathmandu Valley to Nijgadh in Bara district over a short distance.

The approximately 71-kilometer-long highway is being managed and monitored by the Nepal Army. Although the target is to complete the project by the end of Chaitra 2083, it has faced various challenges, including policy complexities, geographical difficulties, and land acquisition issues.

As of the end of Asar 2082, the overall physical progress of the project stands at 42.13 percent.
