Rain/Snow Likely in Parts of Nepal on Magh 9–10

Kathmandu — The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has forecast the likelihood of rain or snowfall in various parts of Nepal from the afternoon of Magh 9 (Friday) to the morning of Magh 10 (Saturday). Independent meteorologists have also highlighted this possibility.

After a period of dry westerly winds, clouds carrying moisture are expected to arrive by Friday afternoon.

In Koshi Province, light rain or snowfall is expected in one or two locations in the high hill and mountainous regions.

In Bagmati Province, moderate rain or snowfall is likely in a few high hill and mountainous areas.

In Gandaki Province, moderate rain with thunder and lightning is expected in some areas, while moderate snowfall is possible in high hill and mountainous regions.

In Lumbini and Karnali Provinces, moderate rain with thunder and lightning or snowfall is possible in some locations.

In Sudurpashchim Province, moderate rain with thunder and lightning is expected in some areas, and moderate snowfall is possible in certain high hill and mountainous regions.

No rainfall is expected in the Madhes Province during this period.
