Nepal Workers and Peasants Party Registers Candidates for 120 Constituencies Ahead of House of Representatives Election

Bhaktapur — The Nepal Workers and Peasants Party (NEMKIPA) has fielded candidates in 120 constituencies across 59 districts for the upcoming House of Representatives election scheduled on Falgun 21. According to party central member Saroj Raj Gosai, NEMKIPA has nominated 67 men and 53 women as candidates.
In Bagmati Province, the party has submitted nominations in 12 out of 13 districts, excluding Rasuwa. Out of these, 32 constituencies have 20 women and 12 men candidates. The party has nominated its central secretary, Prem Suwal, from Bhaktapur-1.
In Karnali Province, NEMKIPA has fielded nine candidates, including one woman, across nine constituencies in seven districts. Notable candidates include Nand Bahadur Shahi in Kalikot, Birkh Bahadur Raut in Jumla, Bakht Bahadur Thapa in Dailekh, and Tulsi Khadka in Surkhet.
In Koshi Province, the party has nominated eight women and 13 men across 12 districts. In Madhesh Province, six women and 16 men have been nominated across eight districts. In Lumbini Province, NEMKIPA has submitted nominations in seven of 12 districts, with eight women and six men candidates.
In Gandaki Province, the party has nominated six women and two men in five out of 11 districts, while in Sudurpashchim Province, excluding Bajura, it has fielded five women and nine men candidates in eight districts.
This widespread nomination effort reflects NEMKIPA’s intent to maintain a significant presence in both national and provincial politics.
