Minister Ghising Signals Resignation to Contest Elections, Calls for Unity Among New Parties

Kathmandu, — Minister for Urban Development, Kulman Ghising, has indicated that he will decide on resigning from his ministerial post before the deadline for candidate nomination to contest elections. Speaking at a press conference at the ministry, Ghising, who is also the patron of the Ujyaalo Nepal Party, hinted that he may step down from the government to participate in the upcoming elections.
“Entering politics as a minister, I have carried forward my responsibilities while in office. When the time comes to contest elections, we will make the necessary decisions at the appropriate time,” Ghising said.
Although the current government led by Prime Minister Sushila Karki is non-partisan, Ghising’s party affiliation has drawn various comments and scrutiny.
He also emphasized the importance of unity among new political forces. “Elections are the primary responsibility of this government. When it comes to contesting elections, all new political forces must come together. We are united on this,” Ghising stated.
Addressing other new parties, he stressed that no single party should assume it is solely right. “For leadership to be effective after the elections, everyone must contribute from their respective areas regardless of circumstances. No one should hold back, thinking only their approach is correct. All must unite. All new forces must come together,” he added.
