Over 553,000 people leave Kathmandu Valley for Dashain

Kathmandu: Amidst the Dashain festival mood, more than 553 thousand people have left the federal capital, Kathmandu. According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, 553,261 people have left the Kathmandu Valley from Ghatasthapana, the first day of the 15-day Dashain festival on September 22 until this morning.
According to Chief of the Traffic Police, Senior Superintendent of Police, Navaraj Adhikari, as the number of travelers leaving Kathmandu Valley increased, additional traffic police have been deployed at various checkpoints and parking areas.
He said, “For the ease and safety of travelers, help desks, vehicle monitoring teams, and emergency rescue teams are made also active. Traffic police are deployed on the roads 24 hours a day.”
Additionally, during the Dashain period, 285,308 people have entered the Kathmandu Valley via 72,041 vehicles. (RSS)
