Supreme Court Receives Petition Against AG’s Decision on Ravi Lamichhane’s Cases

KATHMANDU A petition has been registered at the Supreme Court challenging the decision of the Office of the Attorney General (AG) to withdraw the money laundering and organized crime cases against Ravi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (Raswapa).

The hearing date for the petition has been scheduled. The petition was filed on Wednesday by Yubaraj Paudel, naming the Attorney General’s Office, various District Government Attorney Offices, and Ravi Lamichhane as respondents.

The petition seeks to annul the decision made by the Attorney General’s Office on Poush 30, along with related correspondences. It also requests directives to ensure that the ongoing cases regarding cooperative fraud, organized crime, and money laundering against Lamichhane are not weakened and that the legal process is not obstructed in any way.

This legal action underscores the continued scrutiny over high-profile cases involving political figures and the importance of maintaining procedural integrity in Nepal’s criminal justice system.
