Agreement on Key Positions Between Rastriya Swatantra Party, Mayor Balen Shah, and Minister Kulman Ghising

An agreement has been reached on how many office-bearers will be included from Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah and Energy Minister Kulman Ghising’s groups in the Rastriya Swatantra Party (Raswapa).

According to Raswapa sources, Balen’s group will appoint one General Secretary and one Deputy General Secretary. Similarly, Kulman Ghising’s group will be given one Deputy General Secretary and one Deputy Spokesperson.

“This is a polite agreement to include two office-bearers each from Balen and Kulman’s groups,” a Raswapa source said. “The names from their side are yet to be finalized.”

Party Chairman Ravi Lamichhane had signed separate agreements to bring Balen and Kulman into Raswapa.

As per the agreement, Balen Shah is being positioned as the Prime Ministerial candidate for the upcoming House of Representatives election. Energy Minister Kulman Ghising, who is also a patron of Ujyaalo Nepal Party, has been appointed the first-priority Deputy Chairman after Ravi Lamichhane.

Other Deputy Chairpersons in priority after Kulman are DP Aryal and Swarnim Wagle.

Currently, Kabindra Burlakoti is the sole General Secretary in Raswapa, while Vipin Acharya is the only Deputy General Secretary. Deputy Spokespersons are Pratibha Rawal and Ramesh Prasain.
