Gen-Z should be brought on board in every programme, Minister Kharel says

Kathmandu,- Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel has said that participation of Gen-Z should be ensured in each programme adding that any dialogue and programme organized by avoiding the Gen-Z Movement will remain incomplete.

At a programme on Social Accountability: Media and Youth Dialogue organized by National Youth Council today, Minister Kharel said that no one can undervalue the Gen-Z Movement of September 8 and 9 since the government has already approved the agreement signed between the government and Gen Z representatives.

“The time is of youth. The Gen-Z Movement has dismantled the illusion that youth cannot do anything. They have shown that they can sacrifice for transformation,” Spokesperson of the government and Communications Minister Kharel added.

Minister Kharel also noted that youths have role in every stage of the protest adding that they have proved that massive changes can happen in 27 hours if the youth wanted so. “But, they did not want to join the government; they just asked for good governance and employment. So, this is a selfless movement,” according to Minister Kharel. Likewise, Minister Kharel called the youths to come to the frontline of the leadership.

He viewed that youth will prevail in the Nepali politics now and no one can prevent this trend. “The future of the country’s youth in politics is bright, he stated. Minister Kharel said that representation of youth in the political parties’ general conventions and the upcoming March 5 HoR election will depict youth friendliness of the political parties.

The youth should not be confined to a certain ism rather they should take the rights and move ahead in the campaign of the nation building, according to Minister Kharel.

He also pledged the support of the government to the media fraternity for their role to lead the nation towards transformation. Also speaking at the event, National Assembly Member and General Secretary of the Parliamentary Network on Population and Development Ganga Kumari Belbase said that youth should be engaged in problem-solving, energy and innovation.
