Third Election Police Officer Dies in Baitadi Within a Month

Another election police officer has died in Baitadi, bringing the total number of election police deaths in the district to three within a month.
Most recently, 38-year-old Rajendra Prasad Bhatt (Yuvraj) of Melouli Municipality–6 died on Monday. According to Suraj Singh, spokesperson for the District Police Office Baitadi, Bhatt was serving at the Area Police Office, Melouli. After returning home from duty on Monday evening, he suddenly lost consciousness at his residence.
He was rushed by ambulance to Kesharpur Primary Health Center for treatment. However, doctors declared him dead at 12:05 a.m. Police stated that further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Earlier, two other election police personnel had also died in Baitadi. On Falgun 8, 38-year-old Mahadev Wad of Dasharathchand Municipality–4 passed away after collapsing unconscious at home.
Similarly, on Magh 20, 32-year-old Prakash Chand of Dasharathchand Municipality–4 died after falling off a cliff while returning from training.
