KP Sharma Oli Criticizes Political Obstruction to Development Projects

Nepal Communist Party (UML) Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has expressed frustration over opposition forces allegedly obstructing development projects he initiated for the country’s and people’s benefit.
During an interaction with local voters in his home district of Jhapa on Monday, Oli claimed that his efforts to lay the foundations for new development were repeatedly disrupted due to political conspiracies.
He accused both domestic and external powers of colluding to undermine patriotic and development initiatives, leading to the stalling of major projects in Nepal due to political instability.
“I brought new visions for railways and water transport in Nepal, and I even started the work. But the situation is such that I start a project, and they topple the government. I restart, and they topple it again,” Oli said.
He added, “In Nepal, completing one term of work required me to become Prime Minister four times. As soon as some positive results start showing, conspiracies to dissolve the government begin.”
Oli particularly criticized delays in industrial zones and the construction of stadiums. He claimed multiple forces were working to prevent the establishment of the industrial zone and the Damak stadium in Jhapa.
“Many internal and external powers want to stop Nepal’s development. They block industrial zones and stall stadium projects. I arranged the land and prepared everything, yet I’m asked why the stadium isn’t built. How can it happen if I’m not allowed to work?” he questioned.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the trivialization of his projects, Oli criticized the tendency to reduce serious development plans to mere jokes. He emphasized that he had designed a roadmap for Nepal’s prosperity based on scriptures and history, which the opposition failed to understand.
Despite the obstacles, Oli reaffirmed his and his party’s commitment to continue the development agenda and accelerate stalled projects.
