Prime Minister Sushila Karki Reaches Namche, Solukhumbu

Prime Minister Sushila Karki has reached Namche in Solukhumbu district.

She arrived there on Thursday to assess the ground situation in the Himalayan district ahead of the House of Representatives election scheduled for February 21.

According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, she will hold interactions with local representatives and government officials in Namche. Her team includes Chief Personal Secretary Adarsh Kumar Shrestha and Press Advisor Ram Bahadur Rawal.

As the election is set for February, some had expressed concerns that conducting voting in Himalayan districts might be difficult and had suggested postponing the polls.

However, the Election Commission has stated that the election will be held on the scheduled date in a single phase.
