Election Commission Strengthens Code of Conduct for Upcoming Election

Ram Prasad Bhandari, Acting Election Commissioner, has stated that the Election Commission has made the code of conduct for this election clearer and more effective.

Previously, the code of conduct did not include provisions from the Election Offense and Punishment Act, but this time, all such relevant sections have been incorporated. “We have included the provisions related to offenses and punishments from the Act in the code of conduct so that everyone can easily understand what is allowed and what is prohibited,” Bhandari said.

He also mentioned that the Commission is continuously disseminating information and materials through social media, media outlets, and newspapers to ensure compliance. “We repeatedly inform people about which actions would constitute a violation of the code of conduct,” he added.

The Commission has urged all stakeholders to follow the code of conduct and contribute to a respectful and orderly election process.
