Public Holiday Declared for Prithvi Jayanti

Kathmandu — The government has declared today a public holiday to mark Prithvi Jayanti. Continuing its tradition, the government provides a holiday every year on this occasion.
Today, various programs are being held to celebrate the 304th birth anniversary of Prithvi Narayan Shah, the founder of modern Nepal. Born in 1779 BS, Shah’s birthday is also observed as National Unity Day, with events taking place across the country.
